Have you used any of their iron shafts? This time around I don't think I am going to build woods ... future yes but not right now. Just curious. I've heard a lot about Gramman but I can't recall who from now that I try to remember! I think it might actually be a guy on rec.sport.golf not here now that I think about it.

Jen, I use a lot of Graman TP440 wood shafts. IMO, they are as well made as ProLite 35s (also Graman's claim), feel better and cost less. The A-flex works well for my better senior women players. I've built one set of irons with the TP440 R shafts and felt they were a little on the light side...my hands seem to go too fast with weight under 85 grams. Lately, I've had mostly Type 1 in the Graman graphite wood shafts, which is both unusual and easy to align. They do have spines and the spines have not been aligned with shaft graphics.Bernie Writeto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jen Kuntz" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 8:04 AM Subject: ShopTalk: Building a new set of clubsHi gang, I want to build myself a set of graphite shafted irons and I've heard a lot of good things about various shafts over the years on here. I actually wrote most of this on the weekend but couldn't post to shoptalk. Has anyone tried any of Tom W's stuff yet? I have ordered one of his forged heads (550c) and one of his ZT iron shafts to test. Hope to get it by end of this week to build. I was in the Golfsmith Canada site Friday and picked up a UST Tourforce 80 shaft to test as well. Had a good chat with the guy there about different shafts. I went in originally to ask about the Penley Stealth line which I've also heard a fair bit about on here. But, they only sell those in sets... no good for me, I'm not building a 3-pw set this time around. But he recommended trying this new UST iron shaft and a new Snake Eyes shaft that isn't out yet that is made by Fujikura... I may go back for that once it comes in, sounds like a good one. I also ordered an Apache PM40 because I use that in my driver and love it. (Plus the DSFI on it is in my range) I was hoping to try a Mach22 from Precision Composites because I've heard a ton about them here but I can't find a local supplier with them. I could get one from John but the shipping from the US makes it too expensive. The Cdn distributor for PC doesn't have them yet, only sells the wood shaft version. : ( Oh well... I've got 3 good shafts to test and we'll see what comes of it. This distributor (REO Distributing in Ottawa - anyone use them?) also sells AccuFlex and Gramman. Anyone have experience with either of those brands? I'll have some fun testing out those three shafts and we'll see what I come up with! Right now I'm using the Snake Eyes TC-01 with Rifle 5.0's. For heads, I am thinking of either going back to the Chicago 944c which I have always loved or maybe trying one of the higher end forged offerings (KZ or Tom's) or maybe even trying the Dynacraft 1030's. Not sure yet. I don't want to stay with the TC-01's though. Looking forward to trying Tom's forged head. Damn addiction! : ) Jen
