My regular golf partner has a set of the old Lynx Black Cats. I've reseated a couple of the heads for him, and it's like no other taper known to man. He lost one of the heads when it came off in play...nice 7 iron shot, but the head traveled almost as far as the ball....right into the water. Gotta hand it to Golfsmith, though, they searched that old stock and found him a replacement club.
Here's the interesting part....at some point before Lynx was purchased by Golfsmith, they were owned by Zurn Industries. Zurn is a plumbing and valve manufacturer...no idea why they bought Lynx. My partner wasa manufacturer's rep for Zurn, and they gave him the Lynx clubs as part of a promotion. He liked them...especially the price. I finally got him to let me make him a set of Walter Hagen FCBs with Inno-Lite shafts. He still has about a case of Titleist balls with Zurn logo on them. Bill is a super guy who heads up the production dept at GS and if he has any left over at all, I believe he would do what he could to help you. Otherwise you are faced with having to tell your customer the facts that this is not available and a new set is in order, or at worst, a replacement iron of totally different model and shaft is the only other option.
