Thanks, Greg. That's actually what we have decided to do. First, I'm going
to let him try the driver at the new shorter length. He may like it better
if he ends up finding the centre of the clubface a bit more than at the
original length.

A customer brought his to me with a broken shaft, asking for a replacement. 
I couldn't find any replacements, so with his approval, I reinserted the 
shaft, after doing all the prep work. I then added an extension to the butt 
end to bring it back to the normal length. He's still playing it, as far as 
I know.
