A customer friend of mine from Ireland is planning a trip this June
and was looking for some advice on pre-1980's persimmon and blades.
Since I was barely out of diapers in the 1970's (even though I turned
50 this year) I suggested that he join shoptalk and get advice from
some of the old timers that might have experience with this stuff.
Watch for his post sometime soon and be nice to him, he's a good guy.
Thought it would be fun to follow him on his adventure back in time.

Am planning a pilgrimage to Ireland in June. If it works out will be
teaming up with golf journo colleague and pal JB from Hawaii. The idea was
to use blades and persimmon to knock our way round the West coast of
Ireland in true retro fashion, and report our adventure.
