I have the Intelligolf Birdie app on my Visor and used it for a while, but, as with you, I found it fiddly and inconvenient for keeping up with games and bets. Worked fine for tracking my own scores, though.

FWIW, I don't use my SG unit to do anything but find distances, but it seems capable of doing all the score tracking, too. Haven't fooled around with it, but I suspect it could also do some sort of analysis of club vs. distance for a person who scrupulously entered all that stuff during the round. I don't have the time -- too preoccupied with nursing the stogie!

The "sunny south" was dark, windy, and exceedingly moist today, but it's drying out soon (or so my weather geek friends tell me). I have a practice round and a 1-day tourney scheduled Friday and Saturday, respectively. Sure hope I play better than last weekend. Phew! I really stunk up the course!

Thanks Burgess. I saved the page you passed along last Oct and the "not available" didn't show up until I entered the buy info after reading your note today. I did have a chance to use my Visor and the Intelligolf software. Enjoyed fooling around with it but it took too long for me to fumble around adding scores to keep track of bets and such.
Hope all is well with you in the sunny south.

Back in Oct you mentioned you had the Skygolf GPS for Visor. I've got a Visor and was trying to decide between SkyGolf GPS and the SkyCaddie. After using it for a few months, would you still recommend the SkyGolf or is it better to go with SkyCaddie??

For someone in my position (Visor owner with a stake in using a large collection of Springboard modules), yes, I'd still recommend it. The bottom line for me was that I couldn't see enough extra utility or convenience in the SkyCaddie to justify the extra $250.

Regardless of which unit you may choose, I don't think you'll regret it. I use mine in every non-tournament round I play and really enjoy having it. I don't know that I'm cutting off any strokes, but I sure waste less time searching for sprinklers and pacing off distances.

BTW, preferences may be moot. I just checked the SkyGolf site and the Visor units are listed as "not currently available."
