Best thing I can recommend is to find a bunch of older steel shafts and then find the step down on the shafts that fits snugly into the ID of the butt end of the shaft you want to extend. Rough up the chrome on the step that is to be inserted in the butt, epoxy that in place and as long as the extension is not much more than 1 to 2", the fact that the extender is steel and the shaft is graphite won't cause any problems.

With a properly installed extension, you can safely add 4" to steel and 3" to graphite shafts in full swing clubs, no problem.
