Language-specific names are usually a bad idea in the long run. There's nothing about the new version that makes it fundamentally specific to perl, that's just an implementation detail. In the (distant) future, when somebody feels a desire to rewrite it again in a different language, they will be stuck with a gratuitous name change. Perhaps 'shorewall-compiler' or something like that?
