Then I'd misunderstood, as, in shorewallrc, these do NOT cause errors

   INITFILE=${PRODUCT}
   INITFILE=${PRODUCT}-TEST
   SERVICEFILE=${PRODUCT}.service

otoh, this DOES

   SERVICEFILE=${PRODUCT}-TEST.service

As they're supposed to be analogous, I'll figure out the different behavior I 
see.

That said, is it, then, otherwise possible to specify the naming of the written 
shorewall*.service files?

My goal is version specificity -- if it's doable in SW's build system, great.  
If not, then I'll work around it.
