Dear Tom, dear list .. The problem was that I was using a quite old kernel version. (Don't know why, the debian dist-upgrade didn't upgrade the kernel) I installed the 4.9 version manually, and now everything looks ok.. # dpkg -l |grep linux-image ii linux-image-4.9.0-5-686-pae 4.9.65-3+deb9u2 i386 ii linux-image-686-pae 4.9+80+deb9u3 i386 # shorewall show capabilities |grep -i ipset Ipset Match Counters (IPSET_MATCH_COUNTERS): Available Ipset Match (IPSET_MATCH): Available Ipset Match Nomatch (IPSET_MATCH_NOMATCH): Available ipset V5 (IPSET_V5): Available Thanks again!
