Hej.

I meant the first option. Convert the directory structure once, and never use this again, and use rather the "event" feature of shotwell. I just don'T want to loose several years of classifying work of my old pictures...

Would you want Shotwell to convert your directory structure to events or for Shotwell to offer a view of your directory structure within the sidebar? We've been considering the latter: http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/1594

    Hello, everybody.

I discovered shotweel a few days ago, and i find it very nice,
    simple and
efficient. I would like to make it my default Photo organizer, but
    i'm wondering
about the following : i have a 6-years collection of photos, which
    i organized
up to now according in an "old-style" way, namely, i did not use
    any "event" or
"Tag", they are just stored in folders, with the name of an event :
    Photos/2009/my_birthday
    Photos/2010/summer_hollydays

and so on. Would it be possible to import my whole collection, and
    let Shotwell
automatically create an event for each of the folders ?
I really don't want to create them manually, there are tow many of
    them.

    Thanks

    nicolas
