Thanks Adam,

I am going to do my best to reproduce what happened - I just made sure all
my off line backups are up-to-date! Unfortunately I don't have my friends
SD card any more (they took it home), but I am going to soak test the
Shotwell importing a little with some other mass storage media. Any
suggestions for the best way to capture what's going on? I can take some
regular snaps of the FS, but should I be running Shotwell in some verbose
logging mode?

Antony
