I'm sure most people have other things to backup as well. I think there are good, easy, gui-driven backup solutions available for linux (I didn't look), so I would "expect" people to use *them* :-)
You might disagree, but still I think backup is not a job for a "regular" program, be it a word processor, photo manager, music manager or what-have-you.
