I am scanning slides into png files then using exiftool to set the date on a number of slides then importing from folder to get them into Shotwell. The command I am using to set the date is, for example,
exiftool -overwrite_original -DateTimeOriginal="1975:01:01 00:00:00" * and the photos appear in shotwell in an event Wed 1 Jan, 1975, which is correct. However, if I then scan some more slides and set the same date on them and import them then instead of going into the original event a new one, apparently identical, is created. So then I have two events for that date. Is this a known issue?
