To answer a few questions here: - Shotwell doesn't move photos during an F-Spot import since many people want to keep them where they were for sundry reasons.
- You can enable metadata writing to store tags and other metadata in the files themselvers. - Norbert's suggestion will work, however. Shotwell uses duplication detection and library monitoring to detect when photos are moved. If you move them from Photos into Images, Shotwell will detect that during its startup scan and adjust its database accordingly. If you're worried about this, I suggest backing up your database before proceeding: http://redmine.yorba.org/projects/shotwell/wiki/ShotwellFAQ#How-can-I-back-up-my-Shotwell-library -- Jim On Mon, Feb 25, 2013 at 7:34 AM, Farrukh Najmi <[email protected]> wrote: I have moved all metadata to my photos themselves. This makes the metadata go wherever the photos go. I like this change a lot. Just check the checkbox: Edit / Preferences / Metadata / Write ... metadata to photo files On 02/25/2013 10:21 AM, Leonardo Ferreira Fontenelle wrote: > Wouldn't that make Shotwell lose metadata, e.g. tags? > _______________________________________________ Shotwell mailing list [email protected] http://lists.yorba.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/shotwell _______________________________________________ Shotwell mailing list [email protected] http://lists.yorba.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/shotwell
