Hi list,

What is the best way to make a request for a package?

As discussed
here<http://lists.shr-project.org/pipermail/shr-devel/2010-March/002409.html>it
would nice to have a package of the xine backend for Phonon
to be able to use phonon on SHR.

I am not very good with bitbake so here is my attempt to make a recipe for
xine phonon 's backend
but as I am really a noob about this, it is at a pretty early stage :

------------------
DESCRIPTION = "phonon"
AUTHOR = "Matthias Kretz, Ricardo Villalba, Ian Monroe, Nokia Corporation
and/or its subsidiary(-ies)"
SECTION = "libs"
PRIORITY = "optional"
HOMEPAGE = "http://phonon.kde.org/";
LICENSE = "LGPL or GPL"

PV = "4.4"
PR = "r0"

SRC_URI = "git://
git.gitorious.org/phonon/phonon.git;protocol=git;tag=3b0c6c3"
S = "${WORKDIR}/phonon-4.4-r0/"
-----------------

that's it! It does not go very far... :p

In a near future the best thing to do about Phono's backen will be to use
the --currently under developement-- vlc's backend.
As saied by Phonon's developers , it will be THE backend for Phonon.

Plus as vlc 1.1 will be optimized for ARM processors, this will be a good
idea.

Waiting for your interest!

Sylvain (aka GarthPS)
