I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd like to ask you one thing: 
hod do you connect to eduroam?
I tried configuring it, but I failed, since the university only provides guides 
for Windows XP, Vista and Symbian, and doesn't mention at all what the 
underlying standards are.
Could you send your wpa_supplicant config?
