Cell phone is far from a standard. It actually is outdated US-only slang which
unfortunetaly got spread to some other countries (India, South Africa, Canada,
Philippines, New Zealand and Italy). The word mainly refers to the technology
(cellular network) and not the device itself. We don't talk about our PSTN or
ISDN phone either when referring to the home phone or office phone, do we? It
is more or less the same principle.
The international standard is Mobile phone or just Mobile when already used in
context of telephony.
