You can easily edit edje files, and edje files are "skins" it feels sluggish to create an image and put it specifaclly in a spaceholder when you specify the spaceholder inside a theme. In other words, the edje is the layout, you can easily edit it and theme all the applications you want, hence, putting in edje is far from hardcoding, it's actually the right thing to do. -- Tom.
