The phone hang now and then, after I got 2.6.32. Most often, I notice that I can't wake the phone up with the power button. Nothing happens, no backlight or anything else. So I remove the battery. Then, the phone boots up and shows that it was not a battery problem - still 50% or so left.

I have also seen it hang in various ways while running:

* A complete freeze, where I had to remove the battery

* Tangogps froze, and the touchscreen did not react. So I
could not bring up the shelf and close the program.
But I could ssh in, kill tangogps, and the phone recovered.
Could be an application bug, but I have never seen tangogps
do this before 2.6.32. And I have used it to map a town...

* The phone froze, and I could *not* ssh into it.
But the kernel still replied to ping.

Is there anything I could do to help when such things happens?
Things to look for in logfiles/dmesg that might be useful?
