shr-t currently has navit r3174, which seems almost completely
unusable for navigation because the graphics are hopelessly slow.

There was some discussion back in May and June[1], resulting in new
packages and the reports were at least of some improvement. Therefore
I installed navit from unstable, requiring also libcrypto1.0.0 and
libxcb1. I'm getting the following stack trace on starting navit:

Loaded symbols for /lib/libnss_files.so.2
0x4038153c in waitpid () from /lib/libc.so.6
#0 0x4038153c in waitpid () from /lib/libc.so.6
#1 0x4032c4e0 in ?? () from /lib/libc.so.6
Cannot access memory at address 0x0
#2 0x4032c4e0 in ?? () from /lib/libc.so.6
Cannot access memory at address 0x0
Backtrace stopped: previous frame identical to this frame (corrupt stack?)
Detaching from program: /usr/bin/navit, process 892

Any idea why? I assume it runs fine in unstable. Compiled against a
different libc?

Does anyone have any tips for making navit in testing run faster?
fullscreen? a particular gui?

Jeff
