It's posible to compile parallel SIESTA on linux with Intel fortran compiler (ifc). You must be sure that: 1) The mpi version has support for f90 (and for the compiler you are going to use, you can't mix!!). 2) Scalapack works (ifc tends to produce infinite loops if aggresive optimisations are requested). 3) Siesta is compiled using the previous working environment (sometimes make finds a now working version). For ifc 7.1 I use the following: a) RedHat linux 7.3 (no parallel success in 8.0 or 9.0 with ifc) b) mpich 1.2.4 c) SIESTA 1.1 or even better 1.3 The lahey compiler is not so system dependent, but I don't have a recent version to test.
