Jon,
       Install ezppp of the rh 5.2 that is the only thing that got me
working with telesys .dip never worked for me same problem with minicom for
a long time i got it working once ( dont remember how although pppd wont go
to daemon mode and would seize a console) the best thing is to use the chat
scripts ppp-on and ppp-off and ppp-on-dialer these should be available in
the rh 5.2 cd otherwise you can get them from sunsite so try these nowadays
i connect to my isp using these scripts
and never a problem try them.
