This may seem a little off-topic, but it'll get to the Linux part... I
promise =). How accurate is the "connect at speed ..." thing in Win95 dialup
networking? If it's pretty accurate, then I must have some pretty bad phone
lines here in East Round Rock if I usually get 19.2K with a 33.6K modem. I
rarely get 24.6K or higher.
The Linux part of my question: is there a similar utility in Linux that
can tell me how fast my connection actually is? Is this really a clueless
newbie question? Please help.

Thank you very much,

MZhang
