I have no idea why, but in X, some of the symbols on my keyboard are
incorrectly mapped. i.e. the pipe comes out as ~ and I cannot make a
pipe (which makes some things very difficult). The " and @ are switched.
The ~ key comes out as �. I am using a 101-key compatible keyboard and
the english keyboard map. In console mode everything is fine. (But in
xterm everything is messed up as well.) Thanks for your help. (Thanks
also to all of you who sent me Intrinsic.h. I, er, now get stuck
somewhere else compiling X11amp, but that's because I can't find
thread-safe xlibs. thread-"aware" was as close as I could get.)
