occasionally some of the options for an RH5.2 install will permit you to not
install the source for the kernel. It is on the cd, though and can be
copied to the hard diskand used from there....

RedHat 5.2-Install - How come /usr/src doesn't have a linux-2.x.x.tar file

I'm trying to install a cyclades board and part of the installation
instructions from cyclades speaks of rebuilding the kernal. When I go to
the "How To" in Linux Undercover, it says there should be a
linux-x.x.x.tar.gz file there and says how to untar it and make clean, etc.
etc.

I just installed RH5.2 and it has a /usr/src/linux directory but the only
thing in there is an include directory.

What's the deal? And how would I go about installing this cyclades board
without the /usr/src/linux containing at least the file "config"?

thx,
dick
