Run the file manager as superuser. You should have the option to "Edit
Global Applications" and "Edit Global Mime Types".
1. Add the Mime type "text/wordperfect" for extensions
".wpd;.WPD;.wp;WP" (or whatever extension you want to tie to
WordPerfect). You can't add the app yet, just go ahead and save
that mime type.
2. Add to global applications WordPerfect and point it to the binary.
You can tie it to the mime type "text/wordperfect". Save it.
3. Go back to the mime types and then add the application "wordperfect"
you just created in #2 to be the app to load this mime type.
I've done the same thing for Applixware and changed to xv for gif, jpg,
etc.
There's probably a better way to do this, but I haven't invested the
mental energy into finding it.
