I'm new to Linux so bear with me here... I really wanted to know what X is
like so I borrowed RH 5.2 from ACM yesterday. After successfully installing
RH 5.2, I typed in <startx> and it gave me some error message saying that I
had to configure it first... Typing <XF86Setup>, I went to the configuration
screen. To cut to the chase, the RIVA TNT is not yet supported by the
XFree86 system that comes with the CD. How do I get support for it w/o
downloading version 3.3.3.1? Everytime I select Generic VGA with the SVGA
server, the blue screen will give me an errorcode 333 (or is it 111?) No
matter... Second question, if I wanted to get Xfree86 3.3.3.1 which files
do I download and how do I install them. I am dual booting with Win98.
(meaning, I could d/l from win98 but how do I convert so that unix/linux can
read it?) Thanx!
