If I were you I'd remove everything gtk on your computer (both versions) and
then reinstall the new one. I had this problem before and it worked. So for
the details, go to /usr/local/lib and rm libgtk* and rm libgthread* (gthread
comes with gtk), then go to /usr/local/bin and rm gtk-config. But what you can
do to save time and still solve it (but leave a few extra files on your hd)
is:
do ls libgtk* -l and ls libgthread* -l and make sure that libglib.so and
libgtk.so link to libglib-1.2.so.0.0.0 and libgtk-1.2.so.0.0.0, respectively.
I *think* that will solve it as well. But the first method definitely will.
Good luck.
