Yes, you can compare them, but it is like comparing grapes and watermelons
(more different
than apples and oranges). The BoboMIPS cannot even be compared across
different versions
of I86 (no 486 to Pentium, to Pentium II comparison, let alone PPC or Sparc or
Alpha architectures).
The BogoMip FAQ is a great place to start to understand what it really is, and
to see how they
do compare.
