Why the axe to grind with chipsmart? I agree that their service
basically sucks ass, and if I wanted top-quality name-brand stuff (e.g
good Micron RAM; bugs me when stores don't list things like cas et al for
their ram) I'd definitely look elsewhere (unless you count processors,
kind of hard to have a generic Intel, :^D).
So what happened to you all to dislike them so much? And where do
you shop locally for hardware instead?
Personally, I try to get out my technolust every so often by going
to eBay and typing in SGI or silicon graphics... :^) Ahh, if I could only
win the lottery or something. ;^) Actually, I have been considering
saving up $100 or so to get a moderately brawny 486 or low-end pentium for
an ip_masq/apcahe/ftpd type box for my apt lan...
Oh, that and doom too. ;^)
