I wouldn't get the Adaptec's ... they tend to behave strange under higher
loads. I've had nothing but problems under (much older) Linux's and I've
heard recent stories about them as well.
I really like Mylex (used to be BusLogic) cards, but best bang/buck used
to be the NCR based ones -- ASUS and Tekram.
