I disagree.  Like any list service, >50% of the stuff on this list is
cruft anyway, so I don't mind seeing announcements of locally produced
linux products now and again.  In fact, not only do I not mind, but I
regard this as useful information in more ways than one:

  - find out about new and potentially useful stuff
  - possible employment opportunities for list members
  - find out what linux software developers in Austin are up to

There is absolutely no connection between the message posted by Paul
Schmidt at Photodex and run-of-the-mill spam; I'm not going to bother to
explain why, just think about it.
