Recently built my new computer, but ran into a few minor problems.
(Actually I had this problem before, so I know how to fix it, sorta. )

I used the e2compr patches to compress lots of files on my 4.3 gig drive.
Unfortunately, though, the bootdisk which I had made with the modified
kernel was corrupted, so the modified kernel no longer works. I tried
building 2.2.13 shortly after I built the new computer and had it working,
but 2.2.13 didn't work for some reason, and I can't boot into Linux because
my modified kernel is corrupted. Windows doesn't work either (big
surprise) so I can't do a thing with this new computer.

So, I need a minor favor. (Actually one is minor, one isn't, exactly.) I
need someone to either a) build a 2.2.12 kernel for me with the e2compr
patches applied, and with gzip as the default compression. Or, I think I
may be able to use one of the utilities included in the e2compr package,
clear-e2c, to clear the compression flag on the partition and copy the f
iles onto my dos partition using ext2tools, but the rescue disk which I
downloaded doesn't include dpkg. So, if someone could attach a copy of dpkg
from Debian 2.1, that would be great, too. (a statically-linked version
would be even better, though 2.1's version should work nicely.)

Thanks a bunch.

BTW, one thing I forgot to mention. I post here from [EMAIL PROTECTED];
I'm using another computer since mine is a huge paperweight at the moment.
Please send any attachments here and I'll respond as soon as mine actually
works.
