I have vmnet1 set to 192.168.0.5 and I set windows to use that ip, netmask 255.255.255.0 no dns or gateway. eth0 is set to 192.168.0.1 i can ping 192.168.0.5 from linux but can't ping 192.168.0.1 from win98/vmware. What is wrong? ifconfig does the right thing, but route shows vmnet1 to have a destination of 192.168.0.0 (I thought destination == ip, but i don't know too much about route.) I also tried making vmnet2 192.168.0.10 and I couldn't ping it from vmware.
