ok, so that is when you're compiling the kernel, let's take one
issue at a time, first, X:
/home/Xfree86/extract: Only read 5003 bytes from archive /home/Xfree86/XVG16.tgz
/home/Xfree86/extract: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
when are you getting this? when i installed XFree86-3.3.6
i only extracted 4 files: X336src-1.tgz, 2, 3 and the contribs
i don't know why you'd be extracting a file named XVG16.tgz
regardless, it looks like a bogus file, try re-getting it or verifying
the checksum information, etc.
