basically i want to be able to load one os off one drive
and another off another drive, using lilo.
at work i have 2 ide drives in my workstation, one i
installed linux on while the other sat on my desk,
then i removed the linux drive and installed win2k
on the 2nd drive.
(note the only reason i am installing win2k is due to
the weekly Unreal Tournament tournaments)
so then i put them both in the box, the linux
drive being the primary ide drive and setup my
lilo.conf as follows:

boot=/dev/hda
install=/boot/boot.b
map=/boot/System.map
vga=extended
prompt
timeout=20
compact
image=/boot/linux-2.2.14
        root=/dev/hda1
        label=linux-2.2.14
        read-only
other=/dev/hdb1
        table=/dev/hdb
        label=windows2000

this seems like it would allow me to choose
linux or win2k at the LILO prompt and boot
from the respective drive to that OS. linux
boots fine with this configuration, when i select
windows2000 it responds with
"Loading windows2000" but hangs.

i've been reading lilo docs and guides, etc. some
people i've asked have said it's impossible (?) and
others say they have done it. can anyone lend
a hand here? i guess i could just rewire the drives
everytime i want to play Unreal, but that is
substantially bogus.
