Today at 6:16pm, Alexander Boulgakov expounded: ++ Hey guys, I have a Toshiba with type II PCCard slots. Does anyone have ++ reliable experience running any PCMCIA cd-burner? Or, if you prefer, ++ USB? I looked on the Net, it seems USB supports only read operations, ++ but SCSI burners are fully functional. Please post your experiences, ++ thoughts, recommendations. And, oh yeah, which type is cheapest? I have ++ to eat sometimes too, you know.
A 4x USB CD-R pushes the USB interface to its limit. I don't recommend Iomega's USB CD-R. That is the only one I have experience with. Firewire? USB-2? Those should be a bit better. ++ And, um, is there a used-computer store within walking distance of ++ campus (I consider 3 miles to be normal walking distance) where I can ++ look at low LOW end computers (486/10MB is fine)? There's a computer store on the East (northbound) access road to I-35 at ... 6th or 5th or 4th st. That's a short bus/bike ride. You should also try austin.forsale. Usually the seller in austin.forsale delivers. -Paul -- http://www.ece.utexas.edu/~sack || [EMAIL PROTECTED] Minnie Mouse is a slow maze learner. _______________________________________________ Siglinux mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.utacm.org/mailman/listinfo/siglinux
