I'm new to this group but I know Geoff and he mentioned that someone
was looking for co-location
space.

I run hosting company http://www.anchor.com.au/ and we'd be interested
in supporting the initiative.

I agree with many of Mike's comments on the virtues of a virtualised
service vs physical hardware
and certainly think that this is the direction the industry is heading
in.

Anchor has a large amount of co-location space in GlobalSwitch in
Sydney and could offer space
there to house a server. Alternately, and to be honest it would be our
preference, would be to provide
a few VPS. Our offering is implemented using VMware ESX. To allay your
concerns about security
and accessibility you have the option of building your own virtual
machine and simply shipping us
the disc image, furthermore, in your case I'd be happy to commit to
providing you with a copy of the
disc image in future if you chose to move the service elsewhere.

If you're interested please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Andrew Rogers
