We used bluehost.com in our early days.
They are quite good, and they have 'live chat' if there are problems.

Subject: [SiliconBeach] More webhosting advice

Howdy Folks,

Thanks again for all your advice on VPS hosting previous. I do have
another one. This time I am just looking for some shared hosting (for putting
up mercurial plus bugtracking and a wiki). I suppose for this it doesnt have
to be that uber anyway.

Got any recommendations? I was thinking about webfactions, but any better
suggestions?

cheers and thanks in advance
Sri
