I agree with you Rebecca, WP's customer service often leaves a lot to be desired - I think since RBS bought them out, things might have declined in that area. If you try and persist, or give them a call, or the rates should be on the website. Other option could be Paypal for organisations - if you sign up to their business package then it means you can accept CC's without requiring the payer to have a PP account. However again I'm not sure of rates, or their capacity for recurring payments.
