Hi all,
I don't see too many introductions, but it says somewhere "no lurkers,
introduce yourself", so here goes, time to stop lurking.

So who am I? I'm a project manager / director / development manager
working the last 20+ years in product development in Sydney. In
software / hardware devices development, management, delivery.

Innovation, ideas and getting them from idea to reality are my
passions.Building teams, building positive culture. I love to be
around ideas people and help them make it happen. See, in my
experience there are basically two types of people, the ideas people
and the finishers. The visionaries and the doers. I have never really
seen them in one. Those of us who love execution, getting it right,
doing it right, delivering it don't seem to end up in those kind of
jobs that are all about dreaming where to go.
It's the talkers versus the doers, I'm the Teller in Penn and Teller.

So, I would really love to know how this works in start ups. Is that
the deal with co-founders, you get one doer with one talker, one front
guy and one back guy (or girl ;-).

Do you all agree in this divide? Maybe the true entrepreneurs are
those that to have both, or enough of both to actually get enough
done.

At some point in a start up do you have to get enough doers around you
to get it done, up till then you have to get by.

I hope I get some answers. I feel kind of an imposter on this group,
I'm not actually an entrepreneur, just some middle manager working my
way through a career in mid sized companies...

Cheers all

Caroline
