All the leading web frameworks in each language are pretty similar in
regards to features and development pace provides you have experienced
devs.

Accordingly your dev team should choose the language and framework. If
you don't have a dev team / tech lead that should be the first step.

Personally I use the PHP Zend Framework. It's robust and ensure
presentation and bus. logic don't end up together. The other big
benefit of PHP is the much larger (and cheaper) talent pool which is
an important consideration.

If you're already using Wordpress there may also be benefits in using
the same language too - ie: same infrastructure, reducing dev work by
extending Wordpress rather than starting from scratch.
