I've always been a proponent of using own products as motivator to
improve. I've suggested to SB a long time ago to set up "soap-boxes"
where can profile working examples of INDIGENOUS technology/ideas
(perhaps off the silicon beach australia domain). The working thesis
is

* this idea is <best> since sliced bread

then allow any SBer to rebut it

Keep in mind that the Lean Startup model is all about rapid testing of
market hypotheses with pivots to find the execution path. The rebuttal
might be a useful stage before it gets aired to serious investors.
