Hey All,

I've been lurking here for a while so this is an opportune time to
introduce myself. I'm the other half of Digital Pigeon along with Dan
Washusen.
After reading this post, about an month ago I got the ball rolling on
sorting this out for us. I gotta say it was far, far easier than this
thread implies.

1st step: Get an EIN. Call the IRS, don't apply online. It takes all of 10
minutes to get it.

2nd step: Get a US Bank account. It took us about 2 weeks all told to have
a SVB account opened. Most of the time is printing, signing and scanning
documents. I assume you may need to sell yourself a bit here but we were
accepted immediately (with a modest turnover).

3rd step: Signup for Stripe. This is practically instantaneous, although
there is a slight hiccup in that their account details expects as US
address. I jammed our Melbourne address in and added a 0 to our postcode
(so stripe has our state as New Hampshire). The Aussie developer we made
contact there (whilst asking if we could legitimately use Stripe from AU)
asked if we could sort out a US PO box at least to satisfy that address,
otherwise he was happy that we could use Stripe.

4th step: Marvel at the simplicity of accepting USD with all credit cards
while the AUD takes a dive.

Cheers,
Stuart
