Since you're wholly responsible for what your outsourced code does it's a 
defacto requirement that you have that code reviewed by someone on Australia 
with whom you have a legal contact. I guess you could hire a domestic developer 
to act as a project manager and oversee the outsourced development which would 
be cheaper overall.

I also agree with others in that any code you outsource is liable to be 
recycled -- either you could get recycled code, or the code you pay for could 
be taken from elsewhere -- so if you're working on anything proprietary make 
sure you spread development across enough overseas developers that the 
functionality each has is extremely limited.

Otherwise you risk spyware, trojans, viruses, etc. never mind just having your 
app cloned...
