50-80k works for a single young founder.

Useful quote from one of the articles linked earlier:
"Stress on the home front can be a massive negative impact to a startup. In
one case I've seen two "equal" founders, one with a wife, three kids and a
mortgage and the other single an living in an apartment. In terms of cash
compensation the first entrepreneur got over twice what the single founder
got, BUT in terms of life style, it kept them even."

Of course, this is exactly why individuals with a family find it
increasingly harder to justify doing a startup for longer periods of time.
