Payments is hard.

In order for you friend to store credit card details, they will have to be
PCI DSS compliant. This is not trivial. Fortunately there are companies
that specialise in this. Unfortunately, they can cost a lot of money to
use.

Most people here will probably groan, but you might want to consider
Bitcoin as a payment method. There are no PCI DSS costs, not because of
lack of regulation and industry oversight, but most of the concepts that
require the safe keeping of credit card details don't exist with Bitcoin as
a payment method.

The downside with using bitcoin is a burgeoning market and its not at the
tipping point of mass adoption just yet. The upside is that once you do an
implementation, it costs nothing to have, and only a small % when you do
use it.

The company i founded, BitPOS has a plugin for wooCommerce that you can use
for payments it will cost 1% on each transaction when you do use it.. On
the downside, we only remit to Aussies. We are working on international
remittance right now and have plans to go into Hong Kong and New Zealand
this year.
