Technology moves too fast for politics. Politics is dead in the water until
we figure out how to update it to match the rate of progress in technology.

I suspect we'll see the singularity before we figure that out though. That
or annihilation at the hands of an out of control technology. Either way,
the problem kind of takes care of itself.
