I am erratic about new tech, sometimes jumping in early, sometimes resisting and avoiding it for reasons that I cannot describe better than saying that it feels off.*
Passkeys are one of those things that have felt off to me. But seeing this list talk about it makes me think I need to educate myself about them. I will go search, big course, but if you folx could recommend some basic reading, something a newbie can understand, I would be grateful. (Off-list, perhaps, since this will be old hat to the rest of the list?) ~peter * Eminently skippable examples: Taught myself and then taught others to use software I encountered at work. While teaching my art directors design and illustration software, I nagged them into teaching me a bit about design and typography. Online, I jumped into internet chat, forums, personal home page providers, teaching myself rudimentary HTML (I have zero coding knowledge aside from this), blogs, most social media I encountered. But I never could get my head around CSS. I — very reluctantly — only started using a smart phone last year. Tried Reddit and Discord, but still don’t understand them. Stayed away thus far from cryptocurrency and using LLMs. Still don’t use any mobile wallets. (Twitter was a mix. I just didn’t get it when it started and barely used it, then suddenly one day I did.)
