Hi,

Are you retired?
Yes, already for 7 years. I was retired for health reasons, after a
surgery I couldn't recover fully and was (and am still) under constant
pain medication and therapy.

I love programming and are happy that I have more time for that. But my
physical status doesn't allow me to do it for many hours a day. There
are days when I just need rest. But I am very glad to be no longer the
slave of my calendar.

differently?
I wouldn't know what. Everything I/we did (it was always the family) I
would probably do exactly as I had done, because all mistakes and errors
as well as successes are part of the learning you need in order to gain
what some call experience and others call wisdom. Hence I would say to
my younger self just these words: Go ahead and do whatever you believe
you need to do!
retirement? Is anyone even thinking about working till journey's end?
Before the forced retirement, I was already thinking of retiring early,
but not that early. I think I earned the right to say "no" to whatever I
don't want to do, and yes to all what I want to do (emphasis on "I"). My
job didn't give me that freedom. Unfortunately, now my body often says
"no", even when I want to say "yes". That's annoying.
Kind regards!
Martin
